Good thing then no one implied it was only about money. But yes, saving a grand or two is very important to the vast majority of people.


My point is people will either stay on windows or switch to Mac. Switching to Linux will be rare for users whether they have money or not.


Until they get their act together, if ever, of course. Much of Linux looks and functions literally identical to how it did 20 years ago.


And that’s a great thing in general. Innovations like forced online accounts, spying, and hidden UI I want no part of.


I think it’s pretty bad faith of you to assume that what I meant by “the user experience hasn’t changed” is “doesn’t have horrible windows style malware in it”.
