I've seen a lot of doomerism lately due to the slowing progress in peak AI intelligence. People were expecting GPT5, so GPT4o seems underwhelming from a raw intelligence standpoint. I think this limited improvement in state of the art performance at the same time that open source models are rapidly closing the performance gap is highly revealing.
