This is really clever. I use `tree` sometimes but I guess I never read the man page, because I didn’t know about those .info files.

By using symbolic links, this could be used for an actual mindmap, rather than just another outlining tool: it could represent part of the more complex topology that actually captures the way ideas are related.


Did anyone tried running tree with cyclical graphs created using symlinks?

I thought "poor man's mind mapping tool" is pen and paper? and maybe cheap smartphone to digitalize it :)


I've been using plantuml to write mindmaps in markdown notation. Pretty nifty
