neural nets or AI are very bad at math, it can only produce what's in the training data. So if you have trained it from 1+1 to 8+8 it can't do 9+9, it's not like a child brain that it can make logical conclusions.

> Quite how they stopped a line forming three decks long outside every holodeck on the Enterprise is a mystery to me.

You probably need captain approval for NSFW content. I wonder if there will ever be an AI service that is not "Enterprise" filtered.

When I try to run it I get: "We don't know what you're looking for, but we hope you find it"

They have to monetize somehow...

Todays hard drives are faster then memory was back then, so it's probably not an issue now. Could probably reparse your entire code base at every key stroke without you noticing.

Modern PCIe NVME drives typically see a few microsecond latency, but even DDR2 latency was around 10 nanoseconds. Memory remains top dog by a long shot.

Ohh, in Sweden we gave it all away. No loans. It all sprinkled upwards creating many more millionaries. Now we are all enjoying the inflation that you get from printing new money and giving it away.

If the money was given to help people who weren't working due to COVID-19 to pay for necessities such as housing and food, then it is not extra spending than would normally be spent so it shouldn't cause inflation. Perhaps too much money was given or it was given to people who didn't need it. It doesn't need to be a loan to not cause inflation.

We have work insurance, sick insurance, and social funds in Sweden so if you are a drug addict you don't have to live on the street, you get enough to afford a cheep apartment and noodles. The COVID money went to companies, who mostly used it for stock dividend, or buying a sports car. They made pinky finger promise not to fire the staff, but then they did it anyway when rent went up to further increase the profits. Because of work insurance you are not kicked out on the streets, but you will have to sell your house and move to a cheaper place, basically pushing you down to the lowest level of the social ladder, meanwhile those on the higher ladder got pushed up. The shrinking middle class are paying for it all via high taxes and high inflation.

yes, unless you pinned the public key

It's common in fur farms that they breed the animals that are most friendly to humans, and in only a few generations those animals behave like very friendly pets, and killing them becomes more difficult.

A NOVA episode on dogs showed a Russian study where they bred the most friendly foxes with each other and did the same with the most aggressive (so extremes in both directions). The aggressive-bred animals were like that scene in I Am Legend where he checks on his infected rats. They were being fed, and they still wanted to kill their feeders. Kind of terrifying.

huh so that's a way that it's adaptive for the animals

Why do they kill animals for fur? Could they not shave them? (I realise my question sounds dumb)

The pelt is what's harvested - the fur is not removed from the skin.

In some cases the animal's hair can be cut without harm, like how sheep are shorn for wool.

Also WebAssembly is meant to be a compiler target with the biggest advantage being it's sandboxed. The problem is that the JS engines can do that too. Just like JS engines, WebAssembly can run outside browsers. I think in theory Wasm is better then JS in those areas, but not better enough.
