The key is putting your SaaS in front of people who need it. Here are something I did:
- Find a group that your potential customers there (on Reddit, Facebook,) ... post your work there.
- Create content on IG/Tiktok/Facebook/...
- Final is using paid ads FB ads/Google Ads/...
Congratz Tony! He has been very good at creating products for years. Since he was a student. The way he studied, the way he worked, just so different from the rest of us.
It feels so good that your story in the front page of HN. 45k is not a big number for HN crowd, but it is a fortune here in my country.
I had exactly the same problem. Recently, with the help of ChatGPT (just free version). When I didnt know anything, I just asked. The result was pretty good.
I also wrote stupid code first in my own version, and copied + pasted to chatGPT, asked it to improve it, or rewrite in ruby on rails style. And wow!! The rewrote version even went with explanation.
Old reddit has less bugs too. First time, using reddit, I used the new version. But my internet connection was too bad, this caused a lot of problems with the new version.
When I knew about the old version, I tried. And wow, almost every bugs I had with the new one went away. Faster load too.
Yeah, I used Bootstrap for a long time, and got used to how it works.
I wanted to like Tailwind, but it seems a bit disingenuous. It's like using inline style tags, just with shorter names.
From time to time I've made an effort to learn how CSS works, but after a while I forget the details. It's more productive if I can browse a catalogue of visual examples, with concise markup that is easy to copy and paste.
Bulma seems like the more "modern" take on Bootstrap: https://bulma.io/
After 10 years working with Java. Now I dont wanna go back anymore.
