They are a staggeringly profitable service provider who occasionally has their employees work on games as a hobby. They just are not a game dev company anymore, and that's okay.

They're a technology company. Most of their games in the past ten years have been about showcasing tech, e.g Source, Steam, Trading/Market, VR...

he's probably talking about the wirecard scandal, where the german SEC equivalent didn't bother investigating wirecard despite the warnings, and instead went after journalists and short sellers.
