Had this same experience many years ago traveling from Hamburg to Copenhagen. I had no idea there would be a boat involved in the trip. "Gee, this is a long stop... and where are we?" only to realize we the train was actually parked and still moving.

Google updated their sexual misconduct policy as a result of employees taking action and speaking out. The policy is a good iteration, but moreover, symbolically it means a great deal for a company of that size to show it listens. I don't work at Google but can only assume that these changes have changed the culture for the better.

It's funny because often the stories about small talk in the US center on how vapid it is. People ask, "how are you," and most people are conditioned to say, "good, thanks" (or some variant) and leave it at that. Then you're trained to say, "and how are you?" and often it's the same reply. Then it's onto the weather, news, sports, or other topics. Despite that it's formulaic, as an American, it's comforting and within the norm.

RadioLab ran an interesting episode about the person behind this lawsuit and other lawsuits against affirmative action in schools. His activism a double edged sword. https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/more-perfect-plaintiffs/

Pricing really isn't changing. Hope you stick around!

I am sure I am sticking around as long as possible, but it is always good idea to be ready for all eventualities. Especially when you are running legacy apps that you have no time to update, but still don't want to let them die.

Thanks to MongoHQ I was able to move one particular app three times to different providers. It took no time, just upload the code, change DNS and you are good.
