I too was curious because I could not access the funding section so I asked Gemini since I figured it would have access and it said:
- According to the funding and disclosure sections of the article, the research was primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
and then
- The Nurses’ Health Study (NHS): Supported by grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
- The Health Professionals Follow-up Study (HPFS): Supported by grants from the NCI and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
- Specific Grants: Additional funding for the analysis of cognitive decline and dementia outcomes often comes from the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
All the coffee I drink was freeze dried several years ago before prices went up.
> The difference here is that this is the president doing this rug pull.
Cryptocurrency has always been a scam of no real utility for honest actors (compared to alternatives).
> Using his power to make billions is not exactly enshrined in the constitution.
Not exactly. Trump is dishonest and greedy, and doesn't care about a lot of appearances that prior presidents cared a lot about. In this case, he's not "using his power to make billions," he's actually not refraining from making billions because he has power.
I'm pretty sure Obama and Biden could have made money from a meme-coin, if they were so inclined. But if they even thought about it at all, they would have rejected the idea because it would look bad, hurt the office, etc. Trump doesn't care about those things.
Surely you're taking the piss and can recognize that what's unique about this story is the fact that a sitting US president pushed the meme coins? They made Jimmy Carter put his peanut farm into a blind trust, but Trump is raking in money off his crypto pushes, shady dealings, and business holdings.
Edit: Carter put his farm into a blind trust, he didn't sell it.
Fantastic. Several halloweens ago I wore vampire fangs and told a beautiful girl at a concert that I worked at the local blood bank. She said "yeah?" and I followed up with, "would you like to make a donation?"
From a systems thinking perspective there can be virtuous cycles or vicious cycles that self-reinforce. It could be that there are 449 ghost jobs being posted for every one real job. There are alternative explanations possible to why it took 450 applications to land one position. I disagree with your conclusion.
Having been applying to a lot of roles I appreciate the post you made. I will hang in there. I started working on an Elixir application to grow my skills while applying. It is an exhausting process and I'm glad you got a job. Hopefully I will get one soon.
Thanks for your comment; remember that it's a marathon, not a race! Make sure you pace yourself, take breaks, and don't take rejections too personally.
Battery life isn't as good as I expected, but I do leave the backlight on quite a bit. I'm not a big phone gamer, but some people do enjoy playing original (black and white) game boy games on them.
Texting works very well. I'm typing this on the phone right now. It's one of the smoothest eink devices I've ever encountered.
