It happened to others but there are also some very good examples like Veeam community edition which, IMO, is the best backup software. They had lots of discussions and even pressure from management to terminated, but the numbers made a lot of sense and they kept it. Tailscale is in disadvantage here because they are in a very crowded market and it will be very easy to slip into one corner and let way for others like netbird, netmaker, nebula(?), wireguard (like u said), etc.

I use it strictly on older systems that only use telnet and for casual port checking on some equipment. Last time I had to check if AIS equipment is working properly. Some people think "servers" are the only thing in this world. Telnet is one of those things that probably keeps this world function properly.

For port checking I use `curl -v telnet://host:port`

nc -v host port

I did the same... even faster. I installed it, suggested me some local crap. I wanted ltt, mkbhd, etc. searched those 2, added them, after that first 2 videos were the same crap. uninstall. even youtube is better. It's so much content on youtube that It's impossible to watch it all in a lifetime even at 5x speed. And 10x better content.

But, but, what about those managers? What they are working on? Making explorer better? or AI AI AI?

Yes, Explorer is better now- it's preloaded to mask how bad it is

Samsung should not give up DEX, is mature and works exceptionally well with applications that are supported (wireless DEX with my samsung tv works great). Knowing Google, they will give up after 5 iterations or updates will be very slow. It is good for the ecosystem, I hope it will become more mainstream.

Dex and Android desktop mode are not a single new thing, but multiple features that partially have been in Android for years, like external screens, resizable windows and the (currently rather limited) external screen drawer.

I use Niagara Launcher because of the simplicity and quick access to every app. I highly recommend to everyone who wants a fast launcher and clean look.

Closed source. Fool me once...

Niagara is exquisite.

This thing is great when traveling. I guess I'm gonna get one ($30 is just good enough I guess) just to scan my hotel/airbnb rooms.

So I have only one subscription: Youtube because of family/kids and bonus YT music.

For the rest: adguard phone/pihole home, frosty instead of twitch, newpipe instead of youtube(I hate the interface), infinity instead of reddit and a lot more alternatives for social media. Also using xmanager for some apps ;). I have zero ads on my phone or my pc. I disabled the ads once for my wife, she instantly yelled at me to enable it again :).

This. I use romanian, english and turkish at the same time. Sometimes goes sideways because we mix a lot of words in english and romaninan in the same sentence, but it's ok. No other keyboard comes close.

Multilingual typing is a godsend. I did have to tweak settings though, like disabling the "suggestion strip" (because sometimes I'd be typing fast and accidently click the GIF button, then an image, which in many apps sends it immediately without a draft which was extremely annoying).

I use 3 languages with SwiftKey and it works really well.

That said, it got bought by Microsoft and now they try to cram in some AI nonsense :(

Me: Open browser full screen, vscode selfhosted, termix, tacticalrmm/guacamole. Nowadays I only need a browser.

lol, another side of the spectrum nice setup
